Germano Celant curates a two-part retrospective at the Correr Museum and the Magazzino del Sale in Venice: "Vedova 1935-1984".
Since the previous autumn, he had been discussing with Massimo Cacciari (librettist) and Luigi Nono (composer) a contribution to the latter’s Prometeo. Nono’s opera receives its world premiere on 25 September 1984 in the Church of San Lorenzo (Venice): conductor Claudio Abbado, texts edited by Massimo Cacciari, staging by Renzo Piano, ‘light project’ by Emilio Vedova.
