His brother dies in a work accident at Marghera, and a few days later, his aunt Maria, wife of Alfredo Mancini. In May, marries Annabianca Manni, his companion for life, met the previous year; they set off for Ravello (SA), then Switzerland, and finally Santa Cristina in the Dolomites for a few months' working honeymoon. Lastly, in November, they leave for Paris, before spending the winter in the mountains.
The same year has a first one-man show at the Catherine Viviano gallery in New York, where Vedova exclusively displayed "black geometries". Wins the Young Artist's Prize at the first Bienal de Saõ Paolo in Brazil, which allows him to go to Brazil for the second edition of the event.
