Between 1988 and 1990 creates a series of small sculptures (reliefs, assemblages with a variety of materials) for a new Per uno spazio cycle.
Participates in the "Art Kites International” Festival, organised by the Goethe Institute in Osaka, that involved several internationally affirmed artists whose creations were accurately assembled by Japanese kite masters. Vedova contributed with ...in continuum, compenetrazioni/traslati (un draken per Osaka), part of ...in continuum, compenetrazioni/traslati cycle . The tour of Japan begins with the Miyagi Museum of Art in Sendai and takes in 26 ports of call. In April, at Himeji, Vedova and Rauschenberg are present at the “Vernissage in the sky” (April 1989).
Mounts a big solo show in Vienna, at the Graphische Sammlung, Albertina Museum: "Vedova’s Angel and the visionary world of his early drawings", curated by Konrad Oberhuber; the travelling exhibition will move on to Frankfurt (Frankfurter Kunstverein), Ludwigsburg (Kunstverein) and Berlin, (Neuer Berliner Kunstverein).
Receives the Grand Prize at the Ljubjana Biennal of Graphic Arts.
